MGF invests in Homeij

Homeij

Investment firm MGF is investing in Homeij, a full-service supplier of various types of knives and related products. Managing Director Jarno van der Donk is acquiring all shares together with MGF. In the coming years, Homeij aims to continue growing through, among other things, the expansion of high-quality distributorships and the strengthening of its own brands. The overall focus remains on serving the customer optimally with excellent service and a balanced product range.

Second participation of the third MGF fund
Homeij is the second investment of MGF's third fund (MGF III), launched in July 2024, continuing the fund's flying start. MGF III has a target size of €32 million and aims to invest in 10 to 15 growing SMEs.
MGF specializes in Management Buy-outs. With MGF's participation, management has the opportunity to become a 100% shareholder in two steps, thereby realizing a complete Management Buy-out. This is possible because MGF acquires only minority stakes and the Director-Major Shareholder has a purchase right on MGF shares for an agreed valuation formula. MGF was founded in 2012 and has already acquired 26 participations within the SME sector with this unique proposition.

Quote Heimen Smit (partner MGF): Homeij holds a strong position in its niche market of knives and related products. We have great confidence in the future of Homeij under the razor-sharp and driven leadership of Jarno and his team.

Quote Jarno van der Donk (General Manager Homeij): Our most important core value is ‘Mates in Business’: doing business pleasantly and successfully with mutual trust. This aligns perfectly with MGF, and I am enthusiastic about further developing Homeij in the coming years – together with all colleagues and MGF as a partner.
